Housing Affordability Report 2004

The SouthStar CDC service area has undergone considerable transformation in the past fifteen years, along with other Atlanta neighborhoods. New residents and businesses have moved into the area. Neglected storefronts now feature clothing boutiques and restaurants. A new library is also being built. These changes have come amidst an economic and population boom with the addition of one million new residents to the metro Atlanta region.



Tree Canopy Study

Final report of a tree canopy survey performed for SouthStar CDC by Brian Darr, Certified Arborist / Registered Forester, Southern Urban Forestry Associates.

The report includes a arial photography analysis between the 1968 and 2003, identification of potential tree loss, and recommendations for maintaining our tree canopy.

Moreland Avenue Land-Use Report

Introduction

The land-use survey of the Moreland Avenue corridor was conducted June-August 1999 as part of an internship with SouthStar CDC through the Neighborhood Development Internship Project. The data were compiled in various formats. Excel spreadsheets contain the information gathered in the land-use inventory as well as the property owner names and addresses. Economic development resources available in the form of property rehabilitation programs are discussed briefly in this analysis and in greater detail in the brochures submitted with the final report.
